Maryland AEYC is committed to quality early childhood
education throughout the state of Maryland. We recognize that quality
early childhood experiences directly impact a child’s success in school
and in life. Our commitment to high quality early childhood education
is reflected in how we initiate and support programs throughout Maryland.
Our priorities are to:
- educate the community about the new accreditation process and standards
(includes center directors, Maryland AEYC members, organization leaders,
politicians)
- identify and disseminate information, resources and tools that support
the broader child care community in becoming or maintaining accreditation
- identify and promote training and education opportunities that align
with accreditation criteria
- identify and promote resources to support programs in achieving
additional accreditation criteria (e.g. playground inspections, health
consultation)
The
National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)
Accreditation is a national voluntary system to measure the
quality of child care centers and preschool and to help these programs
improve.
