The Southern Maryland Association for the Education of Young Children (SMAEYC) encompasses Calvert, Charles, St. Mary's and Southern Prince George's Counties. SMAEYC holds board meetings at Trinity United Methodist Church located in Prince Frederick, MD. We welcome anyone who wishes to attend or would like to volunteer their time. We welcome all levels of involvement (from small to large).

Our motto is "Connecting Communities so Young Children Thrive".

We are working to introduce a Calvert County Chapter to involve local educators of children infants-8 years old. The mission of the MDAEYC is to empower those who care for and educate young children. Our first meeting will be held in the Prince Frederick public library:

At this initial meeting we will be explaining what we are all about as well as appointing officers: President, Secretary, Treasurer, Chapter Representative, and Public Policy Representative. We hope through this local chapter to bring our small yet growing community together as well as support one another by sharing ideas, creating a community event for our 2014 Week of the Young Child, and support MDAEYC with their goals and mission.
